Will Rierson is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Public Relations and Political Science, and minoring in History. He joined College Republicans at the start of his freshman year, and has enjoyed every minute of it. In the chapter, Will has served as Administrative Vice Chair and Executive Vice Chair. He also serves as Treasurer for the statewide federation.
Alec Dent is a member of the class of 2019 from Lumberton, North Carolina. He is a journalism major in the broadcast and electronic multimedia track. In addition to being executive vice-chair of the UNC College Republicans, Alec serves as editor-in-chief of Carolina Review, UNC’s monthly conservative/libertarian magazine, and is on the editorial board of The Daily Tar Heel. Alec also works as a freelance journalist, and has had his work published by a number of conservative publications including National Review, The Federalist, and The Washington Free Beacon. Additionally, Alec is the CEO of the Carolina Liberty Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes free enterprise, economic growth, and personal responsibility at Carolina.
My name is Livy Polen, and I serve as the Vice Administrative Chair for UNC-CH College Republicans. I am a Junior with a double major in Peace, War and Defense and History and a minor in Education.
I spent the summer of 2017 interning in the D.C. office of Congressman Patrick McHenry where I answered phone calls from constituents, gave tours of the Capitol, attending hearings, and listened to many prominent Republican politicians speak.
Maggie is a junior philosophy major with a minor in music. With her degree, she hopes to attend law school upon graduation. Aside from College Republicans, Maggie is involved in NeW, The Carolina Quarterly Literary Review, and Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. Her favorite things outside of College Republicans include her friends and family, running, reading, and Moe’s. Maggie has enjoyed her time in College Republicans and cannot wait to become more involved.
Sarah Beth Marriott
Sarah Beth is a senior at UNC majoring in Information Science and Political Science. She plans to pursue a Master of Science degree after graduating in May, and work in the field of data analytics. She has been interested in politics since she was in high school and worked on a local campaign for one of her teachers. In addition to being a part of College Republicans, Sarah Beth works on an undergraduate research journal at UNC and is very interested in political science research.
Austin is a junior from Chapel Hill, NC. He is majoring in Peace, War, & Defense and minoring in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. He hopes to work in politics, foreign policy, or counterterrorism. Alec has been a member of College Republicans since Fall 2015.
